Poecilotheria Fasciata also known as “Sri Lankan Ornamental”, is a beautiful, large tree dwelling Tarantula due to its coloration, pattern and impressive adult size. Not as common in the hobby as the Regalis or Metallica, these are still a robust and beautiful display tarantula.
The Poecilotheria-genus is well-equipped with distinctive colours and patterns, the bottom side of leg pairs 1 & 2 will amaze you with its bright black and yellow coloration.
Please note that this, like all Poecilotheria are an old world species and suitable for the more experienced keeper.
Although more skittish than defensive this Tarantula is very capable of delivering a painful bite so experience of fast, defensive old worlds is recommended.
This doesn’t detract from the beauty of this species and no collection is complete without a Poecilotheria.
