The Heteroscodra Maculata is another staple in the hobby and rightly so owing to its beautiful colouration and varied markings. This species requires an arboreal setup once out of the Sling stage, as a Sling they’re likely to burrow. However a piece of vertical cork bark or similar should still be provided to allow for arboreal behaviours.
The Heteroscodra Maculata is an old world species and suitable for the more experienced keeper due its defensive disposition and venom potency. This Tarantula is very capable of delivering a painful bite so experience of fast, defensive old worlds is recommended. This is a hardy species with a decent growth rate which should feed and grow well with correct parameters in place.
The ‘H Mac’ is a great addition to any collection.
