Arguably the prettiest of all the African Tarantulas, certainly the most colourful. The Harpactira Pulcripes is a fossorial Tarantula that will require deep substrate with starter burrows in place when introduced to their new home. Once out of the Sling stage the adult colouration starts to be seen, the carapace is golden/brown coupled with striking blue legs.
The Harpactira Pulcripes is considered to be less defensive than its other Baboon cousins, however this is an old world species and should be given the same level of respect as any old world species. This Tarantula is very capable of delivering a painful bite so experience of fast, defensive old worlds is recommended. This is a very attractive Tarantula with a medium growth rate and is as popular as ever with Tarantula keepers.
