Keepers regularly contact us, wanting to turn their enclosure into a natural, or Bioactive, system. However, many are brand new to this style of keeping and looking for that guiding hand to take them along.

Because of this, we have devised a new range of Bioactive Kits. Aimed at some of the more common species of Reptiles kept, whilst also being suitable for a range of other species with similar husbandry requirements.

Leopard Gecko

The new Bioactive Herps Leopard Gecko Premium Scrubland Bioactive Kit has been specially designed for keepers who want to mimic the Scrubland regions of the Leopard Geckos natural range. Leopard Geckos inhabit a wide range of environments, from Woodland to Scrublands and pure sand regions. This range creates a tough, Sandy/Soil scrubland substrate that is great for Leopard Geckos to dig into. It has been designed to provide a deep, soil rich base where humidity can be kept at a higher level than the ambient humidity.

This is perfect for your clean up crew, as they can survive in their own burrows, and come out at night to clean. It is also ideal for your Leopard Gecko, who will burrow and tunnel into these areas to maintain hydration and aid with shedding. Meanwhile, we will also include some great accessories to aid with the overall enclosure design, including our pick of the ideal plants, as well as branches and tubes for hiding and climbing.
