The Veracruz Red Rump tarantula, classified scientifically as the Tliltocatl kalenbergi, is a popular and beautiful tarantula. This New World tarantula is favoured due to their ease of care and docile temperament. This species is endemic to Mexico, usually in the savannah and scrubland regions as this tarantula favours semi arid conditions.
This species has black velvety body and legs and abdomen with bright red setae on the abdomen that makes this tarantula a gorgeous addition to any collection. They are a very hardy tarantula and amazingly easy to keep. A standard terrestrial enclosure with coco fibre, a hide and a water bowl are sufficient for keeping this tarantula. Try to keep the substrate slightly moist on one side, this is a very beginner friendly tarantula with a docile personality.
