Guzmania Tempo

Guzmania are stunning plants that come in array of bright colours, making great features in a set up. The  colourful rosettes contain absorbent hairs and scales which act like biological blotting paper, enabling the plant to absorb water and nutrients. Being epiphytes, Guzmania are best mounted to the background or décor.

Being tropical plants, they benefit from high humidity. A light mist daily will keep your Guzmania looking its best. Most of the water and nutrients these plants require are absorbed by the leaves in the centre of the leaf whorl, where it forms a natural bowl. This central cup needs to be regularly filled with water, which will happen naturally with spray systems. The occasional dead insect dropping will decompose to provide nutrients.
